Features of the two weeks

17. – 24. March 2018

A training camp early in the season in the Mediterranean sun. Also numerous Pros benefit from the ideal training conditions provided by French Riviera at this time of year, mean that many professional teams base their training camps here. The first European races are just around the corner: Spring classics, Milan – San Remo and course Paris – Nice, which finishes here.
The temperate climate is suited to longer climbs to the mountain passes of the Maritime Alps, and the costal routes provide numerous endurance training options.
These conditions are the perfect combination to get the new season off to a flying start. The hotel offers half board and a packed lunch, so we don’t need to worry about going hungry! We have designed the schedule to include sufficient regeneration time after the training tours. Sports massages can also be booked with Sille as required.

21. – 28. April 2018

The second season opener can be the right choice for you in in every respect: to collect enough preliminary kilometers for your collection at home, or because you already spent a cycling week on an island in February or March or just because of the temperature: the suns itensity being already much stronger by the end of April compared to the first week in March. The mediterranean climate will give you an outlook into the upcoming season!
We will ride in three groups organized according to speed and ability. The pace and length of the tours is tailored to the respective group level, so that everyone gets a cycling holiday that is right for them.
We are keen to share our experience in the areas of maintenance, training, and group riding with you.

About me

Italian-loving Swiss entrepreneur, a bike has always been my main means of transport. I discovered an intensive passion for road cycling far too late, but have been making up for lost time ever since. In 2008, I started to develop the holiday division of quaeldich, focusing originally on road cycling holidays in Liguria. We founded Stessaonda, the company behind our Cycling Adventures road cycling holiday brand in 2016.

About me

Born and raised in Bern, for years I had little interest in any form of sporting activity. In 2006, I first started road cycling and after entering the Alpenbrevet 2010 (Bieridee) discovered a passion for mountains that I have never lost. This is not to say, that I have lost my love of downtime, I just call it regeneration these days.

About me

I come from South Tyrol, and ever since I was a child, have spent as much time as possible enjoying this beautiful area. I have always been fascinated by the wild isolated nature of a mountain landscape combined with the opportunity they provide to escape from the hectic daily grind.
I first met the future co-founders of Stessaonda, which we founded in 2016, on a road cycling holiday, and I now organize and run road cycling holidays for them, which gives me the perfect opportunity to share this passion with other road cycling addicts.

Getting here

Travel is not included

By car

Vence is about 10km from the motorway junction Cagnes-sur-Mer, which is accessed from Milan - Turin - Nice from the east or Grenoble – Rhônetal from the west. Ample parking is available at the hotel. In the interests of sustainability, we are happy to help organize carpooling with other guests in advance where possible.

By air

Numerous carriers fly directly to Nice from various European cities. The hotel organizes a collection service with a minivan, so taking your bike is not a problem. Transfer time from «Aéroport Nice Côte d'Azur» to Vence is around 30 minutes.

By train

Getting here by train is also possible. The hotel organizes a collection service from Nice-Ville station. The fastest connection is provided by the TGV service through the Rhônetal. Since taking your bike on these trains is problematic, we are happy to try and arrange for your bike to be taken by car by another guest or one of our guides where possible.
